Get involved and Give Back

Giving back always helps us to remember our roots and find ways to show gratitude for the support of countless individuals who have influenced our lives.  The Chain Reaction Ride is just one way that MARYN is involved in giving something back

The Chain Reaction Ride

What started out as the passion of one has become a truly inspiring and driving force for good.  Mark Bishop will embark on a ride across Canada to raise awareness for the Chain Reaction Ride Charity.  At MARYN, we are all encouraged to become actively engaged in some sort of Give Back Initiative that shows our gratitude and gets us involved with our community.  If you want to get involved and do something, the Chain Reaction ride may be the event for you, or maybe find something else that feeds your passion.

Here are a couple of other programs our team is involved with:

Community Involvement

As well as managing Co-operatives across the Prairies for 30 years, Dennis Epler (Canadian Sales Manager) has donated countless hours of volunteer work in small town rural communities. For over 20 years, he served small town Alberta Lions Clubs raising funds for community centers, hockey arenas, and other great facilities by volunteering his time at rodeos, auctions, catering and anything that needed to get done. To help make Lions International aware of the successes of Lionism, Dennis served 2 terms as Zone 5A Chairman and 1 term as District 37E Membership Chairman on District Council. Being a local businessman, supporting programs to benefit your local customers has always been the best advertising.

On a monthly basis Greg Minke (Business Development - Special Projects) leads a team of men on work projects, to support single mothers and widows in the community,  who are in need of physical labor.  Whether it is changing light bulbs or general repairs and maintenance around their homes. He also serves as the board chair for Canadian LifeCentre,  a non profit counselling service, for teens who struggle with substance and physical abuse and often have suicidal trauma.  Greg also founded a Men's Ministry at Calgary's largest church, First Alliance.  There they promote spiritual health and growth among 2000 male members and present programs which focus on husband, father roles, becoming men of integrity and the connection with other men in the community.

Fundraising and Volunteer Service

For 4 years running Brian Zander (Regional Development) has provided volunteer service with Food Banks in western Canada, helping to raise awareness of the need for Food Bank donations especially at peak periods such as Thanksgiving and Christmas.  In 2011 with hundreds of other volunteers across British Columbia they raised over 150 000 lbs of food in one week!  With many helping hands it sure didn't take much to have such a huge impact - one that will be repeated annually.

The Impact Society is a national Calgary based program working with youth in the classroom, encouraging them to recognize the value they have within themselves.  Fundraising for this program is provided by a financial board which has Greg Minke as a member.  This program is used and endorsed by a number of school boards across the country and the City of Calgary Police Dept.

Scouts Canada has relied on Mark Bishop (Managing Director) for 25 years in various roles of active participation with local scouting and venturing troops.  What started when his boys were young, as a way to keep them out of trouble, has become a lifelong commitment to the principles of scouting and service.

MARYN launches new website

As a part of a long term strategy to develop the branding and expand market share MARYN launched a new corporate website

MARYN International | Lubrication Solutions.

There was a time when selecting the right lubricant was easy.  Now there are so many classifications, specifications, standards and operating conditions that it is often difficult to make sure you are meeting the lubrication requirements of your vehicle, or equipment as set out by the OEM.  In many cases equipment is operating under severe service conditions and being maintained on a light duty service schedule, which time and again results in equipment failure and costly downtime.

MARYN International produces the PowerUp Lubricants brand - lubricant chemistry which is designed to blend with finished oils to address these very conditions and are perfectly suited for consumer use.  In a time where environmental protection is crucial MARYN International also produces the Triumph | Environmentally Responsible and Marinus | Readily Biodegradable products. These high performance lubricants deliver protection in the most demanding applications and still maintain a commitment to wise resource management.
