Triumph Rail Yard Oil (RYO) has been specifically designed to reduce friction on curves and wheel flange/rail interfaces. RYO fights rust and corrosion, has excellent low temperature pumpability and resists water washout. RYO is environmentally responsible because it is biodegradable and has relatively low toxicity.
On-going public sentiment and increasing regulatory guidelines implemented by governments have contributed to the demand for lubricants that are environmentally compatible.
There is growing awareness of the potential environmental damage likely to occur from lubricants that have the opportunity to end up on the ground. Maryn International Ltd. was challenged to develop a product to surpass the lubricating performance of current formulations but one that was environmentally benign.
Wide Operating Temperature
To optimize protection, performance and user friendliness RYO has been designed to provide protection over a wide temperature range, even at extremely high ambient temperatures. At the other extreme RYO exhibits excellent winter pumpability and low temperature lubrication.
Rust and Corrosion Protection
RYO exhibits excellent rust and corrosion protection required in harsh conditions where water and fuels may be present.
Resists Water Washout
RYO quickly repels water to help reduce corrosion, rust, and wear on tracks and wheels.
Tenacious Film
RYO has a natural affinity to cling to metal surfaces, which helps to conserve product. The tenacious film may help extend component life and reduce wear on packings.
Extreme Pressure and Anti-Wear Properties
RYO exhibits remarkable EP and Anti-wear properties by creating a sacrificial wear layer. The wear layer provides more efficient operation and helps lengthen component life.
Biodegradability
RYO has been formulated with constituents that readily biodegrade, decomposing quickly to carbon dioxide and water. RYO is greater than 60% biodegradable following the CEC L-33-A93 method. RYO contains no heavy metals and has low toxicity.
Workplace Environment
RYO makes a very positive impact on the workplace environment. Maintenance staff report a high level of user friendliness and ease in application and clean up.
Compatibility
RYO has been designed to be highly compatible with traditional lubricants used for track and wheel lubrication.
