Triumph RDO 90 - Material Safety Data Sheet - PDF Document
Triumph Rock Drill Oil (RDO) has been specifically designed to replace conventional and vegetable based rock drill oils. RDO excels in pneumatic and percussive drilling applications. RDO reduces friction, prevents rust and corrosion, has good low temperature pumpability and resists water washout. RDO was designed to give long component life in wet or dry operating conditions. RDO is environmentally responsible because it is biodegradable and has relatively low toxicity.
There is a growing awareness of the potential environmental damage likely to occur from lubricants that have the opportunity to end up on the ground. Maryn International was challenged to develop a product to surpass the lubricating performance of current formulations but on that was environmentally benign.
Wide Operating Temperature Range
To optimize protection, performance and user friendliness RDO has been designed to provide protection over a wide temperature range, even at extremely high ambient temperatures. At the other extreme RDO exhibits excellent winter pumpability and low temperature lubrication.
Rust and Corrosion Protection
RDO exhibits excellent rust and corrosion protection required in harsh conditions where water and fuels may be present.
Resists Water Washout
RDO quickly repels water to help reduce corrosion, rust and wear on rock drill components.
Tenacious Film
RDO has a natural affinity to cling to metal surfaces, which helps to conserve product. The tenacious film helps extend component life through reduced wear.
Extreme Pressure and Anti-wear Properties
RDO exhibits remarkable EP and Anti-wear properties by creating a sacrificial wear layer. This wear layer provides more efficient operation and helps lengthen component life.
Biodegradability
RDO has been formulated with constituents that readily biodegrade, decomposing quickly primarily to carbon dioxide and water. RDO is greater than 60% biodegradable following the CEC-L33-A93 method. RDO contains no heavy metals and is virtually non-toxic.
Workplace Environment
RDO makes a very positive impact on the workplace environment. Maintenance staff report a high level of user friendliness and ease in application and clean up.
Compatibility
RDO has been designed to be highly compatible with traditional lubricants used for pneumatic tool lubrication.
Health & Safety
Based on available toxicological information, these products produce no adverse effects on health when properly handled and used. No special precautions are suggested beyond attention to good personal hygiene, including laundering oil-soaked clothing and washing skin-contact areas with soap and water.
